    Abstract
The present study was carried out at experimental field of Horticulture Department, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet, Bangladesh during winter season of 2013-14 with twelve tomato genotypes viz. HT12, HT21, HT15, HT17, HT05, LE10, LE07, HT25, LE04, LE05, LE09 and LE18 with a view to evaluating fruit and seed production potentiality under Sylhet condition. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. A remarkable variation was observed among the tomato genotypes at seedling stage regarding number of leaves, root length, stem length, stem pubescence, weight of fresh seedling etc. The genotype HT21 produced the highest number of fruit per plant (62.66) but its corresponding individual fruit weight was (44.36 g). The lowest number of fruits per plant was harvested from the line LE04 (7.83).The heaviest individual fruit weight was recorded from the genotype LE05 (225.0 g) followed by LE04 (192.0 g). Significant variation was observed in weight of fruit per plant. The highest fruit yield per plant was recorded from the genotype HT12 (2.93 kg) which was identical to that of the line HT21 (2.78 kg/plant). The lowest fruit yield per plant was recorded from the genotype LE04 (1.50 kg/plant). Corresponding per hectare fruit yield was the highest for HT12 (69.68 t/ha) followed by the line HT21 (67.5 t/ha). Tomato genotypes were differed among themselves regarding seed yield and seed attributes. The highest number of seeds per fruit was counted from the genotype HT25 (185.0). The genotype LE05 produced the lowest number of seeds per fruit (27.6). Seed yield per plant was varied from 56 mg to 153.2 mg. Among the genotypes, LE07 (320.90 kg) produced the maximum amount of seed per hectare. The genotype LE07 had the highest 1000-seed weight (4.00g). The lowest 1000-seed weight was recorded from HT25 (2.00 g).
