    Abstract
The present study was carried out to explore the productive and reproductive performances of buffaloes reared in Sylhet region. Total 35 households having 150 indigenous buffalo cows were randomly selected from the Sylhet region and carcass weight of 50 indigenous buffaloes was randomly taken from several markets of this region to achieve the objective of the study. Daily milk yield, lactation yield, lactation length and dressing percentage as productive parameters and age at puberty, service per conception, age at first calving, calving interval and post-partum oestrus as reproductive characteristics were included in this study. In case of productive performances, the mean daily milk yield, lactation yield, lactation length and dressing percentage were found as 2.2±0.72 kg, 1081.83±31.29 kg, 278.4±12.2 days and 50.45±1.11%, respectively. In case reproductive performances, the average age at puberty, service per conception, age at first calving, calving interval and post-partum oestrus were 39±1.82 months, 3.19±0.99, 52±3.42 months, 518±29.56 days and 55.3±3.26, respectively. The findings revealed that the productive and reproductive performances of indigenous buffalo of the Sylhet region were medium.
