The present study was undertaken for studying the efficacy of anticoccidial drugs against coccidiosis by experimentally Eimeria spp oocysts inoculation in broiler chickens. Twenty five, day-old Cobb broiler chicks were randomly divided into 5 equal groups named as group To, Ti, T1, T2 and T3. Group-To was kept as negative control and Group Ti as infected control. On the other hand, group T1, T2, and T3 were with Toltrazuril 7mg/kg body weight in drinking water, Amprolium hydrochloride 1.5 gm/litre of drinking water and Sulfaclozine sodium 2 gm/litre of drinking water respectively. Firstly, four chickens groups Ti-T3 were orally infected with 2.5×10 mixed sporulated oocysts per chicks at 14 5 th day-old. Group-To and Ti were kept as control and infected control respectively. After appearance of signs; groups T1, T2 and T3 were treated with Toltrazuril, Amprolium and Sulfaclozine sodium; respectively; while group-Ti was kept as non treated control. Results revealed that, group treated with Toltrazuril showed great improvement in feed intake average; weight gain and food rate conversion as well as high reduction in the number of oocysts. The feed conversion ratio of Toltrazuril group (1.70) found highest among the infected group followed by 1.74, 1.71 and 1.88 of Amprolium Hcl, Sulfaclozine sodium and infected group respectively. Moreover, the oocysts reduction at the 24 , 10.10±1.64×10 th day was 1.8±0.07×10 3 3 , 30.60±3.34×10 3 , 2.10±0.14×10 3 in case of negative control, infected control and Toltrazuril, Amprolium Hcl and Sulfaclozine sodium group respectively. Comparisons of least square means estimates of different treatment groups explained that Toltrazuril (26.24±0.07× 3 and 8.6±0.39×10 3 ) was the most effective drugs among the drugs used. Least square means of Sulfaclozine sodium, Amprolium Hcl and infected control are 35.23±0.06×10 10 , 43.84±0.06× 3 3 . The disappearance of clinical signs was rapidly in case of Toltrazuril group and it took only 5-6 days for complete recovery. But in case of other group it was slower than Toltrazuril group. The results of experimentally infected chicks with mixed field Eimeria oocysts showed some sort of drug resistance to Sulfaclozine sodium and Amprolium. Our study pointed out that; Toltrazuril is still more effective than Sulfaclozine sodium or Amprolium in elimination of oocysts infection in chickens. Area of drug resistance needs more investigation to explore its magnitude, mode and how to overcome. 10 3 and 81.73±0.04× 10en_US
